I suggest you also enable the INDUSTRY TYCOON mod, so that you can place industries yourself, as there are none in the base map.

Stretched the map to the limits of the game engine and added most important cities. For the sake of Gameplay, I took a bit of license as to choosing which cities to place and moved them around a little bit. Compared to my USA map for TF1, I completely re-edited the map west of the great plains. I went a bit more for fun, real looking mountains, rather than geographical accuracy. California in particular has been expanded so that is is as much an interesting destination as the East Coast. Tried to add a few Easter Eggs here and there… see if you can spot them.
