Ut Chanal – (Maya) – Celestial alignments
Observatory’s angles towards city center, theater square, holy site and wonders provide various bonuses for city. +8 Combat Strength once all 24 angles were created in any city.
Mechanics
Duplicating angles does not provide any reward for city. Progress towards combat bonus is obtained once angle is created (losing a city does not remove it). Angles are rounded up to nearest ~15°. List of rewards:
- Chak Ek’ northern extreme (165°) +2 Great General points per turn.
- Wajxaqib’ B’atz’ (150°) +2 Faith.
- Spring equinox (135°) +25% Tourism pressure from this city.
- Zenith passage sunset (120°) +2 Amenities.
- Summer solstice sunset (105°) +2 Great Merchant points per turn.
- East (90°) +2 Culture.
- Pollux rising (75°) Enemy Spy’s level is reduced by 1 when targeting this city.
- Autumn equinox (60°) +2 Influence points per turn.
- Full moon (45°) +2 Great Engineer points per turn.
- Mars heliacal rising (30°) +2 Science.
- Winter solstice sunset (15°) +25% combat experience for all land units trained in this city.
- North (0°) Increases city garrison Combat Strength by +4.
- Year Bearer (-15°) +2 Great Artist points per turn.
- Tzolk’in sunset (-30°) +2 Food.
- Fomalhaut setting (-45°) +2 Great Scientist points per turn.
- New moon (-60°) +2 ousing.
- Castor rising (-75°) +2 Great Writer points per turn.
- West (-90°) +2 Gold.
- Summer solstice sunrise (-105°) City gains +1 Appeal in all tiles.
- Mars retrograde (-120°) +3 Diplomatic Favor per turn.
- Achernar setting (-135°) +2 Great Musician points per turn.
- Chak Ek’ southern extreme (-150°) +2 Production.
- Canopus rising (-165°) City can build one more District than the Population limit would normally allow.
- South (-180°) +2 Loyalty.
