Ba 050 Strias Mod.3
A full-sized original design this time. The nose shape was inspired by the mi-26, since it’s just awesome, but the rest of it is a mashup of a bunch of different designs.
It features a cargo bay which opens on the left side, with a moving lower belly panel to lift stuff up into the helicopter, and a rotating door which tucks itself up into the roof when turned on.
There’s also a sliding door on the right for people, but it’s not any faster than the big door.
The Ba 050 has a top speed of roughly 170 knots in level flight, with the drive fans on.
Flying this is just as simple as any other helicopter, it’s just got a few extra bells and whistles to make things smoother.
On the roof panel you can find the button to activate electric motors in the wheels, and allows the nose wheel to turn. unless you’re a decent pilot, I definitely recommend you turn this on to get out of the hangar.
You don’t need to keep the key turned to fly, but you will need to turn it to unlock the button to turn the engines on. you can close the locked button once the rotors are turning.
The rotor brake is down at your left knee, the helicopter will not be able to lift off with this on. I recommend you flick this switch first when shutting the helicopter down, to lower the rotor rpm below the flight gate, then open up the locked button again and turn the engines off. that will minimize the torque roll during shut-down.
