Renewable Mechtech
Renewable Mechtech is all about allowing your mechanitors to produce their own mechtech chips for whatever purposes you need.
Three new research projects are added: Standard mechchips, high mechchips, and ultra mechchips. Each project must have their mechtech tier researched first, as well as Machining, Fabrication, and Advanced Fabrication, respectively.
Now, mechchips are not easy to make and they require a hefty amount of time to craft. Perhaps gestating a spare fabricor or two would be a good idea?
If you have VFE – Mechanoids installed, the more ethical mechanitors in our ranks will find they have a new method of getting their hands on those precious, precious higher-tier subcores that’ll leave their hands squeaky clean.
Subcore printmolds are a new basic resource produced at a versatile assembler, and act as "shells" for higher tier subcores. You’ll need a basic subcore, a component, and some steel to make one.
Printmolds can be tossed into an advanced assembler with some components, steel, and gold to make standard subcores; high subcores will need advanced components instead.
It doesn’t stop there; if you have VRE – Android installed as well, the advanced assembler can produce persona subcores! That is, if you have the spare resources and time. But it’ll all be worth it to avoid scanning sickness, no?
