Star Wars: Imperial Assault
Take control of an elite squad of stormtroopers in this Star Wars total conversion for Door Kickers.
Representing over 60 hours of modding and balancing, and featuring redesigned classes, new weapons and equipment, a complete soundtrack replacement, and much more – all based on the Star Wars universe.
Note: I had some trouble with visual and audio quality when making the video, but rest assured it works fine in game. My aim has always been to make this mod comparable to the base game in terms of high quality.
- redesigned classes – make use of Assault, Weapons, Boarding, Commando, and Heavy troopers
- energy shields – five types – protects against bullets in all directions, but they weigh a ton!
- custom weapon fx with 4 different muzzle flashes and 4 different projectile sprites
- 22 new weapons – with everything from heavy blasters to hold-out pistols, shotguns to stealth weapons – all with their own high quality unique sound effects
- 5 new armors – including scout armor and a powered suit
- 2 new grenades – concussion grenades and the thermal detonators
- 3 new loading screens
- complete soundtrack replacement – 15 tracks altogether
- full name list for troopers, and a stormtrooper portrait
- custom rank and squad names
- and much more!
- Assault Trooper – making use of rifles and pistols, these are your frontline soldiers for dealing with the Galaxy’s criminal scum.
- Weapons Trooper – these guys carry the big guns, decimating the enemy at long range.
- Boarding Trooper – your CQB specialists, these soldiers carry shotguns or short rifles for quickly clearing rooms.
- Commando Trooper – all in black, these troopers can use blaster weapons modified for stealth and quiet kills.
- Heavy Trooper – carrying around a shield generator on their back might make these guys slow, but they’ll last a lot longer under fire than any other trooper.
This mod wouldn’t have been possible without the work of bogdan1807, who created the original stormtrooper sprites and generously allowed anyone on the Workshop to use them.
Thanks also to Dan Swensen for creating the Star Wars Random Name Generator[www.dimfuture.net], which I used for creating the name lists.
The menu music and win/lose jingles are from the Star Wars movies and the Rebels TV series.
Lastly, many thanks to the people behind EA’s Battlefront games, the source for any other tracks used, as well as the mod’s loading screens, main menu background, icon background, and many of the weapons’ sound effects and icons.
If you like the mod, give it a thumbs up! I have more plans for the future, and there’s a thread down below if you have any suggestions for balance or features. Have fun playing!
