The Republic of Venice was ruled by doges, and the Palazzo Ducale di Venezia was both the residence of doges and the seat of government. The existing Palazzo Ducale di Venezia began its construction in 1340. Facing the lagoons in the south and standing next to the Basilica di San Marco, this building combined Venetian Gothic architecture with Renaissance great works of art. This magnificent building housed the Doge of the time and the many government institutes, and powerful merchant-aristorcrats held discussions and conspiracies here to plot for the maximum gains of the Republic of Venice – and for their own families.

Unlocks the Mercenario Veneziano, the Crociato Veneziano and Vascello Veneziano, and grants one of each unit. Grants +1 Trade Route capacity and a free Trader unit. Must be built on the Coast, adjacent to the City Center, and the city must have built a Lighthouse.
