Everything I know of. The mod only replaces the original art. No .xml files edited.

There is a quirk with the current build of DW2 that requires a full-game restart after downloading and enabling a mod. So be sure you exit out of the game after turning the mod on, then re-launch DW2.

The original resource art for DW2 sometimes was hard to decypher. Was something a metal, or a gem, or a luxury resource? It can be hard to tell.

Moreover, there was no easy way to know the function of a specific resource. Did a resource add income to a colony? Or happiness? This mod adds colored backgrounds to help players more quickly recognize resource bonuses.

Resources without a background are used in construction of ships and stations. They don’t have any colony bonuses.

Resources with blue backgrounds give a bonus to Colony Development.

Resources with a green background give bonuses to Colony Development AND Colony Income.

Resources with a magenta background give bonuses to Colony Development AND Population Growth.

Resources with purple backgrounds give bonuses to Colony Development AND Colony Happiness.

Resources with yellow backgrounds are Super Luxury Resources that give BIG bonuses to Colony Development and a bonus to at least one other attribute.

1. Subscribe to Refreshed Resources here in steam workshop.
2. Launch DW2.
3. Within the game, In the Modifications menu, enable Refreshed Resources.
4. <<< IMPORTANT >>> You must EXIT and RESTART Distant Worlds 2 before the mod will work. (There’s currently a quirk in DW2 where a whole-game restart is required whenever a mod adds/changes art-assets. When this is remedied, this step will be removed from these descriptions.)
5. After re-loading DW2, start a new game and enjoy!
