The TE2 is the first Soviet mainline diesel locomotive, and also – the first mass-producted locomotive in USSR (were built more than 1.000).

The TE4 is an experimental 3-sections locomotive, which was built to test the using of the "coal gas" instead at once with the diesel fuel for the engines. The goal was to reduce the fuel consumption. But experiment was unsuccesfull, so very soon TE4 locomotive was rebuilt to usual TE2.

The TE6 is a top-secret locomotive-powerplant, which was built for Ministry of Defence of USSR. This locomotive had ability to work in nuclear war conditions.

Please, note: the TE2 and TE4 locomotives are available only like DMU.
