Welcome to the Vietnam War, where North and South Vietnam engage in hostilities, and are both aided by the Americans and the Soviets during the Cold War.
It is famous for the "insurgency" in South Vietnam, where the National Liberation Front (Viet Cong) used guerrilla tactics in a war of attrition. The NLF is heavily supplied by the North through the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
You are playing as US General Westmoreland, tasked in containing the Communists and decisively trying to win over the Vietnamese populace and restore democracy.
However, the United States fails to contain the North, and South Vietnam falls. But, can you change history?
NOTES (MUST READ):
1. For new players, playing in Easy/Normal is highly recommended, as there are many tactics and features that are new to the game.
This gives the player enough time to think and understand the strategy needed in winning the Vietnam War.
2. The Support level in the start of the game is NOT bugged. As many "enemy" initiatives, such as Buddhist Uprising and VC Propaganda sets off the game at NEGATIVE support level, unlock Pro-War Media and Strategic Communications to boost support level back up.
3. The scenario is supposed to be hard for the Americans/South Vietnamese for historical accuracy. Only the most experienced will beat the Brutal difficulty. However, please let me know if there are any very strong imbalances in gameplay and I will fix it.
