Sarolyn

Sarolyn Cycroma is a swordie character that’s specialized in slicing opponents with her icy sword, Monolice, as well as grabbing her foes with the darkness that she was born with. Strike fear into the hearts of your opponents and seize your opportunity to win!

Sarolyn summons a shadowy clone of herself. It only goes forward and serves more so as a projectile. The clone will only slash when Neutral Special is pressed again, allowing for fakeout setups. The clone can absorb projectiles in which that also increases Sarolyn’s Frozen Frenzy by one level. (What’s Frozen Frenzy used for? See DSpecial.)

A forward reaching grab. If the grab connects, Sarolyn can choose between four different directions to throw her opponent to. (Forward, Back, Up, or Down) If Sarolyn successfully grabs someone, her Frozen Frenzy will increase by one level.

Do note that the grab is only once per airtime unless you successfully grab an opponent. And yes, you can chain grab if you read your opponent’s defensive options. 🙂

Sarolyn unleashes a swirling vortex via judgment cut. Each use of Down Special will consume all levels of Frozen Frenzy. Depending on the number of levels consumed will determine the power of the move.

~ No Levels – No vortex is spawned, though the judgment cut part of the move is intact.

~ Level 1 (C1) – A small vortex is spawned. It can absorb projectiles, has a slight gravitational pull, and lingers on the stage for ten seconds. It can also knock up anyone in hitstun, allowing for cool combo extensions. If it absorbs a projectile, it’ll evolve into a Category 2 and refresh the vortex timer.

~ Level 2 (C2) – A medium sized vortex is spawned. Similar to a Category 1, except the range it pulls in is bigger.

~ Level 3 (C3) – A large sized vortex is spawned. Similar to the previous levels, but it is bigger and has a bit of a greater pull than the other levels.

Note that Sarolyn can lose Frozen Frenzy levels if she is either hit, parried, or dies offstage! Be wise and play smart!

A sword slash that circles around Sarolyn before slashing upwards at a somewhat decent vertical height. Afterwards, Sarolyn will go into pratfall.

~ Up Air is another grab move that gives Sarolyn a level of Frozen Frenzy.
~ Speaking of Up Air, you can also fastfall and hitfall with it!
~ Most of your strong attacks are pretty slow, but have amazing strengths in return!
~ You can angle where your Down Special cut comes out with the left stick! Holding in makes it closer to you while holding out makes it further away.
