Description:
"F*ck it, we ball."

– Bierut, allegedly, after hearing the costs of making a Warsaw Metro in the 50s

Warsaw Metro Concept (1953)

In 1951, Warsaw started research and construction efforts on attempting to build a deep-underground tunnel system for the capital’s subway system. It was one of many of the national projects meant to revitalise the war-torn capital.

There was a testing shaft made in the Praga district, as well as some tunnelling work.

This, of course, never bore any fruit, as it turned out overly expensive.

This model is based on the parade mockup done for the 1st of May 1953.

Its layout, dimensions, capacity and vehicle statistics were also based on the documents available in a book documenting the metro’s progress and research.

What if what if… you get the point

Try out the rapid transit Warsaw had to wait 40 more years to get!

Thanks to neigabZkezoJ for the suspension and connector bits.
