Description:

Jewish Autonomous Oblast was a Soviet project of creating a communist utopia for Jews all across the world before the state of Israel came to existence.

Historically during the Great Depression a lot of Jews from different countries indeed decided to settle in this remote location in the Russian Far East, where ethnic Russian, Ukrainian and Nanai (Tungus indigenous people) settlements already existed, creating a multicultural society.

The map has connections to other Soviet regions, in the East and North to Khabarovsk krai, and to Amur oblast in the West (Moscow direction).
Across the mighty Amur river in the South the Chinese are eager to trade using dollars.

As the region was developed along the Transsiberian railway, it’s already present on the map and should be of good help in building the Oblast, as trucks would take too long to reach their destination here. Local economy also heavily relied on Amur transport, the player will find an important port of Nizhneleninskoye in the South, ready to bring supplies from China.

The Oblast has iron and coal deposits in the Khingan mountain range in the North-West, while the fields of South-East provide crops. Although oil reserves remain to be found, they are available for the player in the places where oil is presumed to be. Bauxit and uranium are added in places rare metals are located.
Historically the Oblast managed to reach a population of 200k citizens, and produced crop Harvesters, power transformers, clothing, fabric, food, alcohol, meat, cement, prefab panels, bricks, iron ore and much more.

Can you do better?

And don’t be afraid to "import" new citizens: after all, the whole idea of the Oblast was to attract new people!
