Time/Weather Based Image (read description)

TLDR, DON’T WANT TO SETUP

– Just paste your coordinates from Google Maps or whatever, maybe change the Locale and enjoy.

FEATURES

– Diurnal cycle based on the physical position of the Sun in the sky
– Live weather updates every 10 minutes via Open-Meteo API
– Weather widget
– Up to 108 different states (27 weather codes x 4 times of day)
– Weather effects (6 types of each rain and snow)
– Stars at night
– Digital/analog clock, day of the week
– Media widget with audio visualizer

SETTING UP THE IMAGES

– In order for wallpaper to work with your images, you need to select a folder containing 4 subfolders for each time of day, as such:

/MyAwesomePictures

–/morning
–/night

– Select "MyAwesomePictures" folder as "Images Folder"
– Each subfolder should contain images in formats supported by Wallpaper Engine and match weather codes below:

0 Clear sky
1 Mainly clear
2 Partly cloudy
3 Overcast
45, 48 Fog
48 Depositing rime fog
51 Light Drizzle
53 Moderate Drizzle
55 Dense Drizzle
56 Light Freezing Drizzle
57 Dense Freezing Drizzle
61 Slight Rain
63 Moderate Rain
65 Heavy Rain
66 Light Freezing Rain
67 Heavy Freezing Rain
71 Slight Snow fall
73 Moderate Snow fall
75 Heavy Snow fall
77 Snow grains
80 Slight Rain showers
81 Moderate Rain showers
82 Violent Rain showers

(*) Thunderstorm forecast with hail is only available in Central Europe

– Files in unsupported formats or/and with names that doesn’t match any weather code will be skipped.
– If you want to use the same image for different weather codes – just copy and rename it. Consider compressing images using tinypng.com to save space and (maybe) improve performance.

CUSTOMIZATION

Fonts

– You can use local fonts or Google Fonts/
For local fonts, go to C:WindowsFonts, find your font and type the exact name of the font into the property in WE
For Google Fonts, go to fonts.google.com, find the font you like, copy/paste it’s name into the property in WE

– If changing the Font Weight doesn’t seem to affect anything, that means that selected font doesn’t have that weight.

PERFORMANCE

– Processing a large number of particles requires power, which means you can experience medium to high CPU loads during heavy rain/snow. Tested on i7 11700 – up to 10-15% load according to Task Manager, your mileage may vary.
