Description:

This mod adds the unit Serpent Guard to campaign and custom battles. There is also included in the mod a RoR version of the unit "Deathspitter Guard". This mod is already included in the Exiles of Nehek Faction Overhaul mod. Please don’t attempt to use both or you will simply crash your client.

Serpent Guard are effectively an upgrade to Sepulchral Stalker’s. Serpent Guard are a fast missile cavalry unit which have a relatively short amount of ammo (but significantly more than Sepulchral Stalkers). They after burning through their ammo can be used as anti-infantry shock cavalry, though their small unit size makes them much less effective than Necroserpent Knights in that role. The mod incorporates aspects of my Statuesque mod in that the constructs also do collision damage.

Sometimes I like to take apart other peoples toys and marvel at what they have done. It’s a quite fun part of modding for me, especially when you’re looking at someone who is far better than you like Cataph or Vandy’s mod etc. and pretty much marvelling at the cool stuff they’ve done which is giving you ideas. It’s amazingly educational. 🙂

So today as I had the afternoon to myself I disassembled a few mods which I was interested in to see if I could learn anything new. For a while now I’ve been vaguely interested for example in just how exactly Majorspankage created his King Necroserpent in his Glory mod. It’s actually really really smart and something I would never have thought of. So full credit to him for what he did. I didn’t realise until today that you could actually mount multiple iterations of the a body using the same skeleton onto the same varientmesh. To anyone who isn’t a modder thats probably not that interesting, but it’s actually quite insightful and useful. So credit to Majorspankage for effectively providing the roadmap for this mod.

Now normally loading multiple overlays of a body onto the same varmesh would be useless, but what happens if one iteration of the skeleton has arms, and another does not. Well, you get this mod. I’m looking forward to further exploration of this, but in the meantime to test that it works I quickly put together this mod to field test the concepts.

………………………………………………..

This is just a small unit mod so it should be compatible with most things. Will update and include in my main compilation after Doomsayers. I would suggest using my main Tomb Kings Extended Roster Mod alongside this.
