Description:

Map of France Colony of Somaliland

Colony of France (1884–1946). The area was formerly known as French Somaliland (Côte française des Somalis).
France signed various treaties between 1883 and 1887 to gain a foothold in the region. 1894, Léonce Lagarde established a permanent French administration in the city of Djibouti and named the region Côte française des Somalis (French Somaliland), a name which continued until 1967.

French and Arabic are its two official languages, Afar and Somali are national languages. About 94% of Djiboutians adhere to Islam, which is the official religion and has been predominant in the region for more than 1,000 years. The Somalis and Afar make up the two largest ethnic groups, with the former comprising the majority of the population.

Map is designed to be played starting in 1933-1960.

Djibouti has very limited natural resources in reality, but I added small amounts of iron, oil and uranium to the map.
