AGOT Scorpions Balance
Attempts to rebalance the Scorpion anti-dragon MAA, with the philosophy that dragons should be hard to wound or kill but that Scorpions should not be entirely deprecated as a unit.
This mod changes:
– conditions for AI hiring of Scorpions (AI must now pay full cost for initial hiring and NOT have certain traits predisposing against the decision)
– chances of Scorpion events firing during siege (modified dragon failure rates and redistributed chance of wounded vs dead should failure trigger)
– chances of Scorpions killing dragons during combat (scales to dragon’s combat effectiveness and enemy commander’s skills and traits)
future to-dos:
– investigate Scorpions’ MAA advantage effects

This mod is very lightweight and can fit anywhere in your load order, so long as it’s loaded after the base AGOT.
COMPATIBILITY:
Not compatible with other mods that change the following files:

It should be safe to add to an existing save.
While I’m not aware of other mods that might conflict with this (aside from those with explicit goals of changing how Scorpions work), I am not planning on developing compatches for other mods that I don’t personally use, sorry!
