Landless Adventurers Rebalanced
Landless Adventurers Rebalanced is a gameplay rebalancing mod designed to tone down adventurers and stop them being as powerful as emperors within minutes of gameplay.
– Landless MAA Regiments are fewer in number and weaker than their Landed Ruler counterparts. A general decrease in stacksize, rulers still get full base game sized units per regiments, while Landless Adventurers get half of that, and with a 25% stat reduction for each unit.
– Domicile MAA Regiment Potential Size has been decreased.
– Light Footmen -> Mercenary Light Footmen
– Armored Footmen -> Mercenary Armored Footmen
– Onagers -> Mercenary Onagers
– and etc…
– Cultural MAA units have been added for landless adventurers in a weakened fashion.
– Regional MAA among other special types are not yet included for landless, but I will be adding them (Update will come in November.)
– Landed Rulers still have access to everything as they would normally, these changes only apply to landless.
– Pavillion: Now provides an additional men-at-arms slot at levels 2 and 4, instead of with every upgrade.
– Roaring Campfire: Now provides additional men-at-arms slots only at levels 2, 4, and 6.
– Proving Grounds: Extra men-at-arms size increases are now only granted at levels 2, 4, and 6.
– Bonus buildings: Special MAA size additions decreased from 3 to 1.
After playing for awhile with these changes, I think the balancing feels pretty good. You’re no longer going to be able to take on Kings / Emperors single handedly. You’ll still deal with Counts fairly easily since they are relying on levies. You’re now going to have to think about going to war since steamrolling is much harder. You might even need to employ mercenaries or other landless adventurers, or just wait for the perfect opportunity. The point being is that a victory is no longer a guarantee.
