Make way for the princess!

Ananzi, the Daughter of The Prince, makes her way into Rivals of Aether and as an entry for the EXW 2024 Horror Jam!


Full Name: Ananzi
Series Origin: The Black Heart
Debut: The Black Heart (PC)[2009]

Ananzi is an all-around trapper, using her sticky webs to trap foes for set-ups, punishes and kills. She has a versatile kit that lets her cover from any range and angle, whenever it be pelting her foes with her web balls and spiderlings to charging in with her various ambush attacks. With her traps, deadly pounces and spiders she can throw at you, Ananzi can be a living nightmare to anyone going up against the Alluring Arachnid. Only her tall frame and somewhat slow speed holds her back.


Neutral Special – Crawling Birth:

Ananzi throws a web ball at her foe. Upon hit, spiders will burst out of the destroyed porjectile, scurrying away. Deals little damage and knockback to anyone who comes
into contact with them. Ideal for extending combos, dealing more damage, or catching any dodges.

Forward Special (Ground) – Stampede


Ananzi rushes forward with her giant spider legs. Deals three hits with the last dealing more damage and knockback.

Forward Special (Air) – Pounce


Ananzi dives forward with her long spider hands. Upon hit, she can jump cancel. Will be stuck on this move until she lands on the ground so be wary when using near a ledge.

Up Special – Prey


Ananzi jumps high into the air and then quickly lands down to drop onto her foes. Can change directions during the rise and drop through platforms on her descent by double tapping down, though good timing may be required.

Down Special (Ground) – Black Trap


Ananzi lays down a web that traps and stuns foes when they come into contact, leaving them stuck temporarily. Can be broken by attacks, rolling, if a foe parries Ananzi’s attacks or Ananzi dies.

Down Special (Air) – Spider Dive


Ananzi hops a little before diving straight down into her foe.
