An overhaul and revamp of the standard Lantern Ascension.
In the wake, follow in your predecessor’s footsteps and master the House’s Ways. In dreams, navigate to the Triscupid Gate, and conquer the challenges therein.
- Research: study the deeper mysteries of Lantern, the Watchman, and the Incursus
- Master the Ways: beat challenges to gain new uses from the Ways of Dream.
- Ascension: Storm the Mansus, navigating the way to the Tricuspid Gate
The Paths of the Sun is an overhaul of the base-game Enlightenment Ascension, focusing on the charting of the Mansus and journey of the Soul towards the Tricuspid Gate after the Incursus. In order to unlock their ascension ritual, players will have to discover (and master) the myriad secrets of the House of the Sun. Additionally, potential Long will have to master at least 2 of 3 different locations in the Mansus- The Bounds, The Concursum, or The Ascent of Knives. Each location, once mastered, alters the way the Mansus functions in gameplay, and provides utility in both the first and second phase of the ascension.
Research is a new mechanic which will be used extensively in these reworks- essentially, in order to perform your ascension ritual, you’ll first need to learn about the ascension process, puzzling out the secrets of the setting. Discovered Inklings will be unable to be Concluded unless their corresponding Dedication is on the board; instead, these Inklings can be Conceded in the Study verb to obtain Erudition.
