Description:
gWeather, a weather addon inspired by some of the unfinished ideas from gDisasters.

With this addon, you can spawn seven tiers of various weather types with immersive effects, such as thunderstorms, intense blizzards, hailstorms, hurricanes, and more.

All of the required textures are baked into the addon.

There is built-in compatilbity with gDisasters, vFire, and WireMod.
On the other hand, this will likely be incompatible with similar addons like StormFox or Atmos since they all fight for skybox control.

Disclaimer: Effects in this addon WILL be performance intensive. I would recommend having a modern CPU & GPU.

FAQ
  • Where are the weather entities?
gWeather’s entities are listed under the ‘gWeather’ category in the spawn menu.

  • Is there a menu / configurable settings?
Yes, if you hold C in-game, there should be a gWeather menu you can open to interact with all of the custom settings for the mod. You can also type ‘gw_opensettings’ into your console.

  • Is there a day and night cycle?
    Not yet (Coming Soon).
  • Why cant I spawn multiple weather entities?
In this case, spawning multiple entities would be very hard to implement visually and systematically. Currently, the hail entities are the only ones that support modularity. I will likely not explore future implementations.
  • Will you add more weather in the future?
Possibly, I have a couple ideas to explore.
  • Are there tornadoes, floods, or other ‘disaster’ types?
No. If you’re looking for those, an addon containing them is listed above. In gWeather, there are lightning bolts and lava bombs (both of which are used by some weather types).
