2nd LW Inspired: Air Assault on Protzvi Bridge

“Syrvanian ground forces prepare for their grand opening offensive against the Hettic frontier defenses of the Perlechkin Line as the Republic launches its war of liberation against the Kingdom of Hetland. With successful intelligence operations convincing Hettic High Command of an imminent attack along the coast, Syrvania’s Southern Army Group instead aims to breach the unfinished line with assault divisions at Kitter Moer, breaking through and turning the northern flank of the Hetland’s 1st Home Army while regular infantry divisions sweep across Urdow Province to the Zlowice River.
Speed is of the essence, however, as this plan requires crossing the Urdow River, a major tributary to the Zlowice and a formidable natural barrier with only three bridges accessible to the invading force: The Urdow, Curaw, and Protzvi Bridges. To further complicate matters, the Urdow Division Garrison, a major military staging ground and barracks for over 15,000 troops of the 1st Home Army is situated less than 25 kilometers to the south. If marshaled quickly enough, this force could reach Kitter Moer during the initial breakthrough and may very well overrun and destroy any invading forces before they’re able to reform for the push south.
To prevent such disaster, airborne troops will drop into the area, seizing control of each bridge to prevent demolition by local guard units or use by the Home Army to reinforce Kitter Moer. As most bridges along the frontier have been fortified over the previous year due to deteriorating diplomacy, this task will be difficult, but the success of the southern invasion hinges on the success of this operation. “
THE MAP:
Located 2 kilometers south of the town of Protzvi, this scenario depicts only the night assault on Protzvi Bridge, as well as civilian buildings and recently constructed fortifications in the immediate area. In addition, a nearby Radio Listening Post must also be neutralized to prevent the loss of surprise.
This map should be quite challenging for the Syrvanians (Eagle). As this is a Paratrooper operation, no heavy equipment is available for the attackers.
