Philosophy behind this mod

The first iteration of this mod I Don’t Need A Lighter missed the balance I was aiming at when writing it. It made the Smoker trait even more a freebie point than it should. With this version I want to keep the vanilla’s lighters as the best option to light a cigarette, but also provide the player with more risky and/or scarce alternate options .

DISCLAIMER :

Car lighter overhaul :
  • Car lighters are no longer guaranteed to be found in every car. The car lighter socket can be empty or even in need of repair before becoming usable.
  • Car lighter is now an object that can be carried by players, removed from cars containing one or installed in cars in need of one.
  • The time it takes to warm up a car lighter is now directly tied to the car battery durability and charge level.

Stove smoking overhaul :
  • Lighting a cigarette on a stove top now comes with a risk. If you accumulate too much malus(possible malus are currently coming from : Fatigue/Pain/Panic/Drunkeness/Hand Injuries) you risk having an accident when doing so.
  • The time it take to light up a cigarette on a stove top is now directly tied to multiple current stat of your survivor ( Panic / Pain / Fatigue / Drunkenness / Hand injuries )

Mod Compatibility

Planned to be added
  • Add more possible outcome when failing to light a cigarette on stoves
  • Add the risk of breaking the car lighter and/or the car lighter socket when using it with a low durability/charge level car battery
  • Add a 3d model to the car lighter
  • Update translation strings (to all supported language in the v1)
