POIs – Scottish primary/secondary schools
All publically-funded primary/secondary schools within Scotland.
The dataset contains 2308 schools in total: 1947 primary schools and 361 secondary schools.
School populations are a sum of teacher and pupil numbers, rounded to the nearest integer (teacher numbers are using full time equivalents, meaning any teacher not working full time adds fractional amounts).

School name, teacher, and pupil numbers are fetched from School level summaries.
The summary contains a Seed Code (internal code) – this code can be joined through School contact details to get a UPRN (Unique Property Reference Number) whose location can be found in OS Open Data dataset.
Slight discrepancies are expected: the school summaries are from 2023 (latest available), and some schools have been renamed, closed, or newly opened. There are 15 schools from the dataset that don’t have current UPRN with a location, meaning they are likely closed.
