Description:
Overview

After over a year in development, the Gelatin Juggernaut, Blob, finally enters the fray; an original character with fully original sprites and a very unique and original moveset. Blob is a small character with low mobility, a wide hitbox, an above average weight and a fast fall speed. His rather unorthodox stats make him difficult to put in an exact character archetype but nevertheless, Blob has enough strengths to counter his shortcomings. He has some incredible reach due to his stretchy superpowers and is able to keep most close ranged fighters at bay, whilst still possessing a variety of projectiles to help combat other projectiles users and some more defensive abilities, such as an absorb and a bubble shield.

SPECIALS:
NEUTRAL SPECIAL – EYELATCH

Eyelatch is definitely one of Blob’s most eye-catching attacks. Blob throws out his eyeball and it will latch on to any foes caught in its path and pull them towards Blob for a follow up attack. The move acts as a hitgrab, so it cannot actually bypass shields. You can hold the special move button to throw the move out earlier or tap it to let the move play you to its full duration.

As of Blob’s 2.0 update, you are also able to angle the EyeLatch upwards. The move can also be turned around and shield-cancelled for additional mix-up options.

SIDE SPECIAL – GOOMERANG / OOZENADO

Tapping the side special button will have Blob throw out a slimy projectile that moves horizontally a short distance before reversing. Upon hitting an opponent, the move will deal reverse knockback (so instead of knocking opponents away from Blob, it brings them closer). The move can be combined into a variety of Blob’s attacks due to this feature. The move is also both absorbable and reflectable.

Holding down side special will have Blob start to charge up his projectile in order for it to eventually become an Oozenado. Oozenado has a bigger hitbox than Goomerang, however it does not return and travels less distance before dissipating. Upon making contact with an opponent, the Oozenado will stop moving and trap its target in a multihit, before launching them upwards at a fixed distance. Landing this move almost always guarantees a kill confirm, due to Blob being able to charge strong attacks whilst the enemy is stuck in the attack.

UP SPECIAL – JELLOCOPTER

Blob turns himself into a helicopter and is able to fly around freely for a brief period of time. Pressing the down button lets the Jellocopter descend whereas pressing the attack or shield button ends the attack early. Be aware that Blob has a FAT hurtbox whilst recovering.

DOWN SPECIAL – SLIME SHIELD / INHALE

This move normally generates a slimy bubble around Blob that makes him completely impervious to pain for ONE attack before the bubble pops. This property makes it really good for absorbing big hits, such as Fishbunjin’s Nuke but very bad against multihit attacks, like Orcane’s bubbles.

The move has a 30 second cooldown however; In this case, you will gain access to Inhale, a powerful command grab, where Blob turns himself into a cannon and launches his opponents into the sky.

The move also absorbs projectiles.
