The Brunhild is my take on a good balance between cost (of rare materials) and effectiveness. Its small size makes it hard to hit, while still be able to deliver some punch.
Vital parts, mostly the rump blocks, are made of steel while the wings, some deco/outer blocks and the tail are made of carbon.
You have to rely on the shield, though, so make sure it is alway well fed and up and running. She’s also easy to transport due to her rather compact size.
The Brunhild is specifically made for the 90° vertical approach tactic: You bring your vessel in a position in a 90° angle above the POI while aiming at it manually.
The POIs strong weapons won’t reach you there, as they have a restricted firing arc. In position, you tear down the shield with her six plasma cannons and destroy the weaponry.
In certain cases, e.g. with neighbouring POI’s, some weapons can still get you. In this case, reatreat wenn your shield reaches 30% or lower, and rinse and repeat the process.
Three gatling turrents fight off those pesky drones. For precision shots against troops or sentrys/small laser turrets, you can use the single shot mode, where only the cannon left to the cockpit is firing. This will save you some ammo and prevents area damage.
You might want to install one unit of the superiour CPU extender as soon as possible. For a second unit, you have to throw out some of the installations.
With the additional CPU points, I recommend you ugprade your thrusters to the plasma versions and install or upgrade some additional weapons on the Brunhild.
There are two spots for additional large generators: next to the core and between the armour locker and cockpit. Please note that the latter might accessing the cockbit a bit more difficult.
