Description:

This is Operation "The Sunrise": Vol. 1 from Serious Sam 3: BFE – ported to Serious Sam Fusion 2017. Particularly the very first version of Operation "The Sunrise" – just one level without any color correction or major fixes, as it was released back in August 18th, 2015 – raw, unbalanced, broken, yet still loved by many. It has been a huge part of, without any exaggeration, my life, ever since. I’m still working on the true Operation "Sunrise" mod that will be released this year, so stay serious!

[STORY]

The mod takes place some time after the events of Next Encounter. Sam had to be relocated from his mission on Pechina back to Earth to eliminate one of Mental’s very close commanders. His death could turn the tide of war, so Sam is sent to Far East where the commander resides.
It’s pretty much an unfinished story. Volume 2, which was supposed to finish it, got scrapped entirely because my hard drive broke and I lost all progress on that mod, and since then I’m remaking Volume 1 to have a solid foundation for Volume 2 to exist on.

[FEATURES]

(definitely not partially copypasted from the original description)

– CLASSIC GAMEPLAY: You against hordes of aliens. Get your rocket launcher ready – this will be fun!
– NEW ENEMIES: Meet old fellas (Zorgs, Beheaded guys), and kick new guys’ asses (Khnum-Rocketeer and Revenant)
– WELL-HIDDEN SECRETS: Are you sure you’re going to find every single one?

[DIFFERENCES]

– It’s Fusion, so the gameplay might seem a bit more fair than in Serious Sam 3, but the enemies might still kick your big butt;
– The first cutscene has some changes in comparsion to the original version, regarding facial animations and camera angles;
– Some really small fixes in architecture so that Sam’s butt could fit in;
– Netricsa’s Location messages had to be cut out of the level because they caused crashing, which I couldn’t manage to fix;
– Probably also some really small changes in everything else that I won’t be able to remember.

I hope you’ll enjoy it! Again, stay serious for the real release of Operation "Sunrise" on Serious Sam Fusion 2017. Not gonna promise the greatest campaign of all time, but it’s definitely gonna be good.
