In the Year of the Twin Moons’ Eclipse, when the waters of the Inner Sea ran red with the blood of a thousand ships, I, Miocched, Chief Chronicler of the Great Library of Oumbor, set forth to record the tumult that grips our sacred lands. From the frost-crowned peaks of Northern Thekan to the sun-scorched shores of the Southern realms, our world trembles with the footfalls of armies. The ancient prophecies speak true – when the Moons align in opposition, the peoples of Upper and Lower Thekan shall rise against one another, each claiming divine mandate over these blessed shores.
Let it be known to all who seek wisdom that I, Gouelde of the Ancient House of Aikeq, having studied the chronicles of a hundred generations, do hereby present my findings on the nature of our world. The great continent of Thekan, split by divine providence into its Upper and Lower realms by the Sacred Inner Sea, stands as a testament to the delicate balance of creation. In the North, where the Chorwangorm holds dominion over ancient territories, to the South where the princes of Xoflour and Lidru vie for supremacy – all are bound by ties of trade, blood, and ancient enmity.
The time of reckoning draws near, when all shall bend knee before the true faith or face divine judgment. Our ancestors paid in blood for these sacred truths, and we honor their sacrifice with our devotion. The unfaithful cry persecution, but know this – it is mercy to cleanse the impure, to burn away the rot that threatens to poison all of Thekan. Let the smoke of our sacred fires rise to the twin moons themselves, let the screams of heretics be a warning to those who would stray from righteousness. The Inner Sea itself bears witness to our holy purpose – its waters run deep with the blood of martyrs and the ashes of those who dared stand against divine will. When the final festival bells toll, when the last torch is lit, all shall know the price of defiance against the true path.
Initial analysis reveals a medieval civilization spanning the continental mass designated "Thekan." The planet’s binary lunar system has shaped maritime development and cultural practices across two distinct regions divided by an inland sea. Settlement patterns suggest a feudal society with fortified positions at strategic elevations and waterways. Continued observation recommended to document the unique evolutionary path of this civilization under twin lunar influence.
A unique total conversion mod set on an exoplanet discovered by future Earth, blending medieval gameplay with scientific worldbuilding
World & Setting — Scientifically accurate exoplanet with realistic climate/tectonics inspired by planetary romance literature. Tectonic modeliing, Koppen climate models, and sceintific approach to world building.
Religions — 43 distinct fine-tuned religions with 3,372+ localization lines, color-mapped families, and lore-rich descriptions, and own implemented mechanics of influential holy-sites. Their more complex unique mechanics like decisions / events / activites / special doctrines are in development and are in high priority for upcoming release.
Writing Systems/Civilizations — 22 writing systems (5 fully implemented, 17 preliminary) with visual templates, backgrounds, and cultural identity mechanics. They are virtual groupings uniting religions into religion families, and heritages into particular governments, creating mechannically and visually (per-system COAs, Faith tenet banners, Backgrounds, etc) destinctive civilizations that combat for dominance. Some of the language are already constructed languages, with songs written in them for lore depth.
Visual & CoA — 530+ CoA templates with 285 colored emblems, government-specific frames, and heritage color palette system.
Governments — 12+ unique custom governments, some of them coming with unique own realm frame
Culture & Heritage — 85+ heritages with historically advanced tech seeding tailored to each civilization.
Audio & Visuals — Original soundtrack, main menu design, loading screens, and paper map.
Lore — Planetary romance narrative with "observer reports" format, scientific discovery mechanics, and handcrafted Thekan history
Missing yet, but prioritized — Unique relgiion mechanics, Bookmarks, "Human observer effect" events, Regions and Regional mechanics.

Inspired by Strugatsky Brothers’ "Hard to be a God" and planetary romance genre, the mod explores Earth observers’ influence on medieval society through scientific worldbuilding.
Arikuri is a comprehensive total conversion mod in its early development phase. While it may not yet match the polish of long-established mods, it already offers an engaging exoplanet setting ripe for exploration.
The mod aims to deliver a distinctive experience among CK3’s Total Conversion Mods through several key features:
- The mod embraces the "planetary romance" science fiction genre, blending the imaginative storytelling of Brothers Strugatsky and Edgar Rice Burroughs with rigorous scientific principles. While it captures the wonder and adventure of fantasy, every aspect of its universe is grounded in logical, scientifically-plausible world building.
- It is meticulously crafted using scientific principles – from plate tectonics and biomes to constructed languages and writing systems. The focus on scientific and algorithmic approaches to world-building extends to both natural elements (flora, fauna, ecosystems) and cultural aspects (societies, traditions, cuisines).
- Beyond standard gameplay mechanics, Arikuri’s immersion extends through rich multimedia elements that transcend the boundaries of CK3 itself. Players can expect original music, lore essays and texts, cinematic trailers, and poetry in constructed languages – all contributing to a meta-level experience that maintains the mod’s core vision of scientific world-building. These elements work together to create an expansive universe that exists both within and beyond the game’s traditional framework.

The creation process for Arikuri’s map:
- Scientifically accurate tectonics and climates were modeled using Rock 3 software Rock 3 on Steam
- Rock 3 heightmaps were imported into Procedural Map Generator
- Rock 3’s climate map served as an overlay/guide for refining the Generator’s biome map in brush mode
- Final polish was applied in the in-game map editor for enhanced texture detail
