Congo Rainforest
Presenting the Congo Rainforest, a populated African jungle map created by L4z0rr0b0tz to celebrate the Biomes DLC release, based off of a real-world digital elevation model of the Congo river.
Along the banks of the deepest river in the world, this land is rich in natural resources, with vast deposits of valuable minerals, the largest forest reserve in Africa, and a mostly navigable river which can be used for logistics.
Deep in the rainforest, there is no railroad available. Things will have to be done other ways, with trucks, boats, or aircraft. There are a few customs offices available on each side of the river, for both factions, but they are all small customs offices and can only support limited traffic. There are dirt roads which snake through the jungle, connecting the various small fishing and logging villages of the area, but there is no bridge across this river which is several kilometers across.
There are varied and plentiful resource deposits including coal, iron, oil, uranium, and bauxite. Some of the more valuable minerals are located on the islands, for challenge. There is an unlimited amount of timber to harvest here, and the Congo is known to have many valuable hardwood species. Farming is certainly possible as well, since the ground is mostly fairly flat.
