FOTS Naval Campaign Movement Range, Sailing Speed, and Ship Cost Rebalance
In the base game, all FOTS ships have the same movement range, which is strange on its own. But what bothered me more, was how short it was. With this mod that would be a thing of the past, now your ship can travel as far as their real-life counterpart in each turn. Just note that each ship has a different campaign movement range base on their real-life records.
But, this mod wasn’t just aimed to make your campaign easier. I wanted some more historical accuracy. So, I also adjusted the sailing speed of ships during battle, now most of them are slightly slower than the vanilla game, with only a few got buffed, as things should be.
What’s more, The cost of the more advanced ships have been increased to reflect their real-life price as well. I made their price 1/40 of the actual cost so they’re still somewhat affordable in campaign. Or else, believe it or not, a lot of them actually worth more than castles, like, for real. By the way, the upkeep cost are untouched, as these are surprisingly close the sailors’ wages back in those days.
This is my first mod, in Shogun 2 at least. I made it for my own enjoyment, feel free to incorporate my work into your mod, just give me a shout-out.
