3.7u Fjordlands World Open Alpha
This is the culmination of various work and research since September, and now its out on an open alpha release. The scenery is incredibly minimal and I will be changing nearly every bit by the time it is finished, but there is likely a good kilometer of hand-laid track and bridges to operate on.
This map is made in a scale of 1u = 205mm, making the 3.7u track exactly 30in gauge. Trains and rolling stock of 3.5u or 3u can also run perfectly fine on these tracks. As such, the existing track climbs from roughly sea-level to a height of 28m or 92ft at a patchwork, average grade of 3%. As of now the line features 5 bridges, 3 sidings, passing loops, 1 wye, and a cable ropeway meant to fly cars from one mountain to the next. Once I establish track on the other side of the mountain, I hope to release the Michigan-California Lumber Company inspired “cage” as well as a winch house to be welded to the tile. The switches for this tile are easy to build and an example of one can be seen on the last preview image.
