Description:

A mod for those who, for whatever reason, prefer to see ‘Anno Domini’ notations…

***IRONMAN INCOMPATIBLE – ENGLISH ONLY***

– All (let me know if I missed any) instances of “BCE/CE” have been replaced with “BC/AD”. Vanilla is inconsistent and confusingly uses both.

– Top-right game date unchanged, but the tooltip has been tidied up. It now blends in with other UI (pause/unpause) whilst still showing the Gregorian date. ‘Ab urbe condita’ and quote removed.

– “AVC” on the world map/starting screen has been replaced with “AUC”. Consistency!

Unfortunately, I don’t yet know how to make both of the dates fit in the top bar and not look cluttered. At the moment it only seems possible to display both full dates side-by-side. Considering that only the years are important because everything else is identical, it’d be good if they could be shortened. For example: “15 Mar, 710 AUC / 44 BC”.

It is definitely possible to only display the Gregorian date, but I think that could be even more jarring. This is because Imperator already jumps between different dating formats (YYYY/MM/DD) and primarily uses the ‘AUC’ year for everything. Players will end up wasting time having to constantly check the date’s tooltip when making timed decisions.

Anyway, enjoy!

Hopefully Paradox will give us options in the future that will make this mod redundant.
