Norway (Haakon IV)
NORWAY (HAAKON IV)Unique Trait: Grand Leidang
New Citizens contribute Production toward available Naval Combat Units. Newly trained Naval Combat Units contribute toward border expansion and promoting them increases Influence with neutral City-States.Unique Unit: Birkebeiner
The Birkebeiner is a unique Swordsman replacement for Norway under Haakon IV that receives +20% Combat Strength in Hills. It can also move at double the normal rate through owned Hills, Snow, and Tundra tiles if there is an enemy unit within Norweigian borders, allowing it to quickly deal with incursions. It does not require Iron.Unique Unit: Skeid
The Skeid is Norway’s replacement for the Galleass. Unlike the Galleass, this unit is equipped to devastate enemy fleets with its 33% bonus versus other Naval Units. This comes at a cost of reduced Range when the unit is fighting outside your own territory or the territory of allied City-States, however. Use Skeid to easily dominate the seas but be careful not to let them be outflanked.
