Composting for Farm
This is just a small waste dump, but it can be used by a farm or near to the Night Soil Disposal mod to deposit biological waste into, which will then automatically compost into fertiliser. This can be used in an early start to produce fertiliser for free, if you have a source of biological waste.
You can drop off biowaste there and then collect fertiliser a couple of weeks later, when it has all turned to fertiliser. Or use the factory connections to connect two of them, and use one to drop off biowaste and the other to pick up fertiliser. Just send a waste vehicle to the pick up building and even if it is empty, if there is fertiliser in the other building it will be pulled across the factory connection automatically, and that will start to fill the fertiliser vehicle. That frees up space for more biowaste in the drop off building, so that you can get a pretty continuous process going.
You should ensure nothing other than biological waste is dropped off, use the tick boxes on the building (drop off only) to limit the type of waste to biological waste. If you have a second building (pick up) then limit that to fertiliser only. You can set the factory connection to be one-way only.
Waste dumps are storage buildings, and this composting process is an inbuilt part of the game. This is not a factory and doesn’t need workers, water, sewage or heating and does not generate any mixed waste.
