Description:

Have you ever felt like the AI wasn’t enough of a challenge, but don’t want to give infniite cheats to the AI?
Well, this is the goal of this mod.

Welcome to Ruthless AI, and I will explain all of it’s features.

1. Removed Buffs

Very Hard and Hard no longer give arbitrary buffs to the AI, even though it does make the AI better, it is not the goal of this mod to give these buffs, and instead make the game truly a challenge by making the AI smarter.

Lucky Nations buffs were also removed. These buffs, while helpful, are not needed.

2. Replacements

Very Hard and Hard, instead, change the defines in a way that make the AI smarter. For example, in Very Hard, the AI is as aggressive as possible, spends the minimum in forts, to save money, barely have any savings, try to stay as close to gov cap as possible, pursue your armies for longer, take more land, etc.

Lucky Nations currently have no replacements, but replacements are planned.

3. War AI

The AI is now way more daring and "equal" when it comes to taking battles. For example, as Hisn Kayfa, even with 8k troops on both sides, Aq Qoyunlu will attack you in your mountain fort, something the default AI would never do, and that’s good, because the Aq Qoyunlus were generally able to win the battle, with decent enough rolls. Even if the battle is bad, the AI does it’s second goal in taking more battles, draining the player’s manpower, to delay conquests.

They generally take as much as 100% OE in a peace deal, and can still be pretty stable.

The AI, in Very Hard, goes for the easiest wars possible, and is as aggressive in declaring wars as possible.

Hordes often raze provinces now.

The AI often builds up to force limit now, and may even go over force limit if needed. In dire times, it can even death war.

4. Peace AI

The AI now devs properly, and also builds properly too. You will often see the AI have max buildings in most provinces, and for example, a Westphalia with 2.8k dev has 1m troops in 1805.

Spending on most things is cranked up, such as advisors, corruption, colonies and forts, so to make the AI optimally spend enough money on those.

The AI now picks all Age Abilities, including powerful ones, such as Ignore Coring distance. No, i don’t really care about bordergore, we’re going for better AI here, not some beautiful borders.

They also pick the best goverment reforms possible now, as to make their nation better.

They also do the Estates properly, giving mutiple priveleges from the start, such as Indebted to the Burghers, Religious Diplomats, Mana Privileges, and more.

5. Ideas

Ideas are the best build possible, with being mostly MP meta. Expect to face most armies being high morale, ICA, CCA, 115% discipline, and even more army-related buffs in the late game

6. Dynamic Games

This mod is also very dynamic. Due to the nature of the mod being about the top AIs being the prioritized ones, the game becomes very dynamic, and even minor powers that are generally irrelevant, like Rassids, Florence, and even Dortmund can become the biggest great powers. In mutiple games, nations such as Portugal, Austria, France, England and more ended up being destroyed due to the AI being more opportunistic and attacking at mostly any sign of weakness. This makes the game much more dynamic and can be sort of a ‘Rise and Fall’ mod too.

Thank you for reading this, and have fun! I hope you play this mod, as i want people to test it and give feedback!

Planned Features:

AI Ottomans making every vassal an Core Eyalet

Lucky Nations being smarter

AI Ottomans surviving/avoiding Decadence

Removing more buffs

New Update:

It basically revamps the whole mod. The AI now is seperated in 2, the Aggressive AI and the Peaceful AI. The Peaceful AI will act similarly to the normal EU4 AI, but the Aggressive AI will be the "final bosses" of your game, eating up the smaller AIs and ready to fight crazy wars against you. Will explain in more detail soon.

No natives 🙂

The AI, in general, is less aggressive.

Update 2:

Added Desperate AI, fixed events, and more Aggressive AIs, and they should also survive more often.

Also, the AI now releases subjects in a smart way, credit to the EE creator, Stopia (he let me use them, ofc.)

Last thing, please give feedback if you’re interested.
