Project Sentinel
this mod centers on a conflict set in an alternate timeline where NATO and CSAT, the two largest superpowers, fight for control over the Green Sea states of Takistan and Chernarus. This mod currently includes the US Marine Corps, Russian Ground Forces, People’s Liberation Army, French Land Army, Chernarus Defense Force, and the New Takistani Army, all made using the ALiVE ORBAT mod. Be aware, although the mod’s size is onlu 3mb, the dependencies are around 20GB.
After Operation Arrowhead in 2011, NATO’s efforts to stabilize Takistan faced mounting challenges as CSAT emerged as a global power, covertly supporting insurgencies to undermine NATO’s influence. By 2019, Takistan descended into a proxy war, with with NATO and CSAT backing rival factions. Simultaneously, NATO and CSAT escalated tensions in Chernarus, where NATO’s counteroffensive against the ChDKZ drew criticism for civilian casualties, fueling unrest exploited by CSAT. The conflict expanded further in 2024, as a paramilitary attack in Livonia drew NATO away from the Green Sea, opening the door wide open for a CSAT move in the Green Sea.
In 2025, the region erupted into full-scale conflict. CSAT launched an incursion into northern Chernarus, while Takistan’s fragile peace effort plunged into all-out civil war with Chinese-backed militias gaining ground. NATO reinforced both fronts, sending Rangers to Takistan and bolstering the CDF in Chernarus. Despite these efforts, both regions remain entrenched in brutal stalemates with entrenched forces in Chernarus fighting in urban warfare and fierce battles for control over Takistani oil fields by PMCs and militia. As local populations grow increasingly disillusioned, the conflict in the Green Sea threatens to spillover to other regions,

In 2025, NATO fought to contain CSAT’s influence on two fronts. In Chernarus, it reinforced the CDF against CSAT’s incursion, defending key cities like Elektrozavodsk amid urban warfare. In Takistan, NATO deployed French troops to counter CSAT-backed militias as the country descended into civil war. Both efforts aimed to stabilize the region but faced growing unrest and entrenched conflict.
- US Marine Corps
Officially part of Task Force Trident, the US Marines’ 27th MEU were deployed to Chernarus in early October 2025 alongside US Army & US Navy elements. They were given the colossal task of assisting the CDF in repelling the incoming CSAT invasion. Well equipped and well armed, they are expected to turn the tide of the war. - French Land Army
The French Land Army has deployed a decently-sized garrison in Central Takistan since 2019, tasked with training local pro-NATO militia and assisting the NTA in taking out rebels in the mountainous region. However, after the large increase in activity by rebel forces and rumored CSAT involvement, they have been given clearance for independent operations on behalf of NATO.

By 2025, the New Takistani Army (NTA) and the Chernarus Defense Forces (CDF) both struggled to maintain their independence amid escalating conflicts. The NTA, facing dwindling resources and influence, retreated to the capital, Takmyr, as Takistan descended into civil war between NATO-backed and CSAT-backed factions. Meanwhile, the CDF, heavily engaged in urban warfare against CSAT forces in Chernarus, saw its combat capacity deteriorate without early NATO reinforcements. Despite later support stabilizing the western front, the CDF remained locked in a stalemate with CSAT in South Zagoria, as both nations became battlegrounds in a larger geopolitical struggle.
- Chernarus Defense Force
The CDF has been trying to squeeze out the ChDKZ since the events of Harvest Red. After the disaster that was the joint NATO-CDF operation which saw many civilians dead due to misdirected artillery and collateral damage, public support deteriorated. In early 2025, CSAT invades Chernarus’ northern regions. By July, the CDF’s combat capability had diminished, waiting for NATO reinforcements to arrive. - New Takistani Army
The NTA was formed in 2012 in the wake of Operation Arrowhead. Initially a NATO-funded professional fighting force, they slowly severe their connections due to diminishing support by NATO and the bad perception from the locals. Now a fully independent army, they begin massive campaigns against militia and rebel forces fighting for control. In 2025, they were overwhelmed and retreated to the capital, Takmyr.

CSAT focused on expanding its influence through strategic moves in the Green Sea region. In Chernarus, it conducted a northern operation to support pro-Russian opposition leaders, fortifying positions in South Zagoria and engaging in urban warfare. In Takistan, CSAT backed the Takistani National Resistance with advisors, equipment, and resources, helping them secure vital oil fields. Through a mix of military, paramilitary, and diplomatic efforts, CSAT sought to counter NATO’s presence while solidifying its role in the region.
- Russian Ground Forces
Russia had only joined CSAT in 2019, but they immediately rose and became a leader of the alliance alongside China, as they spearheaded CSAT’s operations in Chernarus. Their formidable fighting force, combining conventional strength with asymmetric tactics, enabled them to rapidly seize key territory in the north. As the primary faction, Russia’s strategic approach—using artillery, cyberattacks, and mechanized infantry—allowed them to push back CDF forces and challenge NATO’s influence in the region, setting the stage for a prolonged conflict. - People’s Liberation Army
China created the Canton Protocol Strategic Alliance Treaty (CSAT) in 2012 and quickly became a global power. In the Takistan conflict, China provided covert support to CSAT-backed insurgents, offering intelligence, military advisors, and technology to destabilize the region. While avoiding direct combat before recently, China’s influence fueled the proxy war. They recently deployed forces in Northern Takistan to take matters in their own hands.
