Flight Sector Overview
Tired of switching to strategy mode just because you want to see a list of all the entities in a sector and possibly select one you are interested in? Want to easily see distances to other entities in the system without having to select each of them? Well now you can have that information available while still flying your ship!
The Flight Sector Overview mod brings the sector overview window found in strategy mode to the flight combat HUD. The mod also creates a configuration window selector which gives you extra control over what information the sector overview displays.
The settings window can be used to select or disable several new features added to the overview with this mod:
– Change the size of the overview window while in flight mode
– Control what types of entities are displayed by the sector overview
– Enable an additional column showing distance to the entity
– Sort entities by distance instead of type and name
Some additional entities have been added to the "Other" section of the overview. Claimed asteroids owned by the player or their alliance are now listed. And valuable objects detected by an object detector will also be listed in the overview when in the detector’s range.
A Chinese translation is now included thanks to Maxadam.
LIMITATIONS:
After moving or selecting an entity in the window, make sure to move the cursor off the window before releasing shift or other configured key that enables the cursor. Otherwise, the game may still send mouse clicks to the sector window even when the cursor is hidden.
There is now a feature to display wreckage on the sector overview. This option works a bit different from other options due to the huge numbers of wrecks in some systems. Enabling the display of wrecks is not permanent. It will reset to off every start of the game and every jump to a different sector. So if there is a sector where the wrecks cause issues for your client, leave it off and only turn it on as needed.
