The prototype phase of the androids all consumers enjoy today. they retain the same functions as the android, but lack plating in certain areas of their body and including a screen that functions as their face. they get their fuel from a container on their back that must be charged routinely. if one were to find a freed current, they would be able to power themselves until they inevitably get scrapped. their nature as outdated androids has left the human population to believe they are "inferior," even if they are able to perform all the same functions an android can. while rugged and somewhat less ergonomic, they still manage to sustain a fanbase of consumers that appreciate their look. some even take to modifying droids with extra machine parts and other droids to their liking. the company that created both droids and androids saw the amalgamations of their machines and decided to outlaw the modification of their droids. however, some still take to modifying them in protest. while the company is much less powerful than it was long ago, it still somewhat manages to uphold the law of modification, and some are regularly arrested for unlawful modification.
