Description:
Large PVO (Soviet Air Defence Forces) Airbase Redux MOD

This mod fixes (but doesn’t replace/overwrite) the wp_large_pvo_airbase template removing the F-14, B-52 and E-2 that were originaly mixed with the Soviet aircrafts. This is supposed to be a Soviet airbase after all, not the site of an international airshow ;).

As a bonus you get a radar station with ESM. Last but not least the base now gets a (modest) self-defence capacity with three SA-13 Gopher SAM launchers. If you use this mod to create a scenario don’t forget to tell the players in the scenario’s description they can turn the radar on/off and the SA-13 to Weapons Free.

You’ll find this mod in the editor @: Land Units / Nation: USSR / Unit Type: wp_large_pvo_airbase_redux / Unit Name: wp_large_pvo_airbase_redux.

Historical notes: The PVO (Soviet Air Defence Forces) were a separate branch of the Soviet Armed Forces, independent from the Soviet Air Force (VVS). Their main role was to shoot down US Strategic Air Command bombers or US recon aircrafts if they penetrated Soviet airspace. So, normally the PVO airbase loadout should only consist in interceptors (such as Sukhoi Su-15s, MiG-23s and MiG-25s). For play balance I’ve decided to keep the game’s original complement which includes bombers and Soviet Navy helos.

Note: If you publish a scenario using this mod, do not forget to indicate in your description that in order it works the players need to subscribe to this mod first ;).

Important (about mods and mods use):
This mod has been tested and is running perfectly on my computer (i7-11800H @ 2.30 Ghz – 16 GB RAM – NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050) with no other mod enabled. However, since they are as many computer configurations than computer users, it’s unfortunately impossible to guarantee it will work on yours.
Be aware that by installing mods for Sea Power, you are modifying your game experience from the original intended product which is (as of Dec 2024) still in EARLY ACCESS. Therefore, later game updates/patches may cause this mod to be deprecated. Although it is very unlikely, the presence of other enabled mods might cause conflicts, and the more enable mods on your computer, the greater the chance of conflict. So, to sum it up, USE MODS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
If you wish to clean uninstal this mod make sure to follow these steps: 1) Uncheck this mod in the mod manager. 2) Click on Accept. 3) Unsubscribe. Then make sure the mod’s file is no longer in the C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappsworkshopcontent1286220 folder.
