Aftere Europa 1964 – Aftermath of the Nukes
This is an alternate history scenario set in 1964, and the nuclear weapons occured only on Europe.

It starts in 1935 when support for monarchy in France was growing at a rapid rate. By then, after 1919, when the Treaty of Versailles was signed, the Entente had won the war. But the incompetency of the French Army during the war was not forgotten. Paris had fallen and the Germans had even reached Orleans. People were outraged with Democracy in France after the leader was shown to be very weak. So they turned to syndicalism in 1922, overthrowing the leader and his cabinet. Which turned out to be a disaster.
The Syndicalists were in power for 4 short years, and which in those years they had turned the Great Depression worse by 6 times of other countries. France reverted back to Democracy in 1928 and, once again, the leader they appointed was extremely weak. By this point nobody knew who trust anymore. Then came Napoleon VI. People had turned to his party to see if they were any better, and Napoleon VI, not expecting to ever be involved in politics, accepted.
He was a fierce opponent during the elections, and a poll showed 78% of France supported him. There was no point turning back now. He won the emergency elections in 1935 after the last leader and the vice were killed. Now, France was a Kingdom. However, unlike the Napoleon many people knew, he was not a war mongerer. He eradicated much of the Great Depression and set his country normal, and controlled the inflation of France. His approval was sky-high. Then, the civil war in Spain broke out.
By this time, Napoleon already wanted some more lands, but this was a perfect opportunity for him to do it. In November of 1937, he purposefully detonated a train on the border of Catalonia and declared compensation for it… About 55x what was done in damages. Obviously, he knew the Spanish Republic had no kind of money for that, so when they declined, he invaded Catalonia (pretty easily) and occupied it. Meanwhile, the Communists in the Republic took over the whole government. The democratics fled to Valencia and declared war on Franco and the Commune.
Franco won the war, and he let France keep Catalonia and the Islands in exchange for a defensive pact (only defending Franco) and Napoleon VI accepted. Now, the Monarchist popularity erupted across Europe, especially in the German Reich, where Hitler cared more about researching "Wunderwaffen" and Nukes in this timeline more then improving the depression, so a royal coup in 1938 set him out and exiled him to Kerguelen where he remained, using his life-enhancing pills to live until 2033, since he had commited nothing really wrong until the coup happened in this timeline.
Now, Napoleon set out to create the Continental System. This alliance was for Democratic and Monarchist countries. France was a Constitutional Monarchy by now, similar to the Modern UK, and many flocked to the new alliance. By now, Yugoslavia, Romania, Bulgaria, Baltic Federation (United in 1931), German Republic, Spain, Greece, Albania, Austria, Sweden, Finland, and Poland all came in this alliance. The only countries in Europe NOT in were the UK, Ireland, Iceland, Portugal, Turkey, Switzerland, and the micro-states.
Now Spain decided to leave to focus on its own well-being and care for its nation + not wanting to be involved in any wars.
This kept being the case but…
In 1941, the Soviets invaded. They were immediately pushed back to Minsk and such. Romania, Bulgaria, and Poland united to form Intermarium. Finland pushed to Leningrad and beyond.
By 1942, They reached the outskirts of Moscow with minimal resistance in the city. Help would not arrive in time. Stalin, therefore, not wanting his country to be lost to "pigs" launched the nukes to Europe, but the algorithms did not include to UK, Norway, Iceland, Iberia and Turkey. They also were limited to only Europe. USA was spared. France launched nukes towards the European part of USSR, wanting to annihilate that part so Russians never post a threat to Europe again, and then… Mainland Europe was gone. The nukes were slightly interfered beyong Germany, but still hit some parts.
