Never Fade Away ’89 – UPDATED!
Never Fade Away is a 15-part Campaign where you lead Warsaw Pact Forces in their offensive against NATO in the North Atlantic and Pacific! War has broken out and we are on the offensive! Show NATO the true power of the Russian Bear!
War has broken out! As we speak, Warsaw Pact ground forces are invading West Germany! However, it doesn’t mean that the glorious Soviet Navy will stay in port during the remainder of this War! We have our own orders! We have sent a landing force for Narvik! That force is now approaching Narvik! Our objective is to capture the town and sink any local defense forces!
As a response to our invasion of Narvik and subsequent capture, the American Navy sent out a large landing force to retake it! We have submarines in the area alongside two destroyers.
Sail Task Force ‘Orlan’ between Iceland and the Faroe Islands and sink any NATO ships you encounter. Your destination is just outside Reykjavik, Iceland. The objective is to gain naval supremacy around Iceland and wait on a invasion fleet to capture the island.
The American Navy felt threatend by our manouvers near the Faroe Islands, so they’ve decided to attempt to destroy the home of the Northen Fleet at Murmansk. Defend the Naval Base and all ships that are docked there!
After surviving the American raid on Murmansk. The Aircraft carrier ‘Kiev’ has again had bad luck! Kiev and her escorts sailed into a massive storm while on their deployment. She is currently lost at sea, position unkown. You will command Task Force ‘Krechyet’ when they regain power to their navigation and realise where they are!
We have been slowly observing Sweden’s troop and naval movements. It seems that they are caving into NATO’s pressure to join the war. This is a big mistake. Our observations indicate that Swedish naval forces are mobilizing and are taking positions in the Baltic Sea, specifically around major ports such as Gdansk.
The newly built Orel-class Aircraft Carrier "Tbilisi" has recently completed sea trials and now is currently deployed to serve the Motherland!
KGB agents hijacked and stole the Oldendorf, a Spruance-class destroyer. The glorious Soviet Navy supported this operation and provided an escort. The Oldendorf is now on its final leg of this perilous operation, soon to arrive in Narvik.
A High Value Target(HVT) is passing through the Gibraltar Straits. Our objective is to sink the HVT and any other targets. We have several submarines near the straits, forming a Wolfpack.
Today is the 4th of July, American Independence Day! Today we launch our invasion of Iceland! Today is D-Day!
North Korean allies started an invasion of the NATO puppet in the South. We are now 4 days into the Invasion of South Korea and 4 days after our own Invasion of Iceland. The South Korean army has been soundly defeated and with our direct help, the North Koreans have reached the outskirts of Busan, the last bastion of US Forces in the Korean Peninsula. As we speak the Americans are retreating and pulling their forces out of Korea, sink the Transports, and capture Busan.
With the Korean Peninsula united under a common ideology, we can now attempt to sail the majority of the Pacific Fleet out to Qinqdao. Our North Korean allies will provide light escort, but we will have to do the majority of the leg work. We have established an Airbase at Busan, and use the Airbase’s air wings to protect the Pacific Fleet! The Americans and the Japanese will do anything to stop us! We predict that the American response will be lackluster due to their attention being on the North Atlantic and Europe.
TOP SECRET: We do not know the nature of what we’re escorting, either way, it’s not our job to question direct orders! We are to sail to Shanghai, China sail past the US patrols, and deliver the secret cargo!
Task Force ‘Buzzard’ with the two Kiev-class Aircraft Carriers will sail from Qinqdao to Sanya Naval Base, where we will begin interdiction and escort operations against crucial shipping lanes that pass through the South China Sea! However, we must dash past the Taiwan Strait to reach our destination! NATO forces will do anything to stop our powerful and glorious task force.
OPERATION KINO: Establish Naval and Air Supremacy in the South China Sea at any cost!
