Optimum Scripta : Guifré el Pilós
Hello everyone ! This is my first mod, and the main goal of it was to set Guifré’s family more accurate according to the sources i found on internet, to get more immersion. I love playing this character and for me immersion is very important when i play this game, i only enjoy if the game is realistic enough.
On this mod, i edited some files which are in the history/characters folder, and more precisely the catalan, wisigothic, french and occitan files, and titles in aragon file too. So it will be compatible with quite everything you play with, but put this mod after (below) any mod that edit the files i changed. If you have any question about compatibility, just ask me.
What gaves me the idea to do this mod, was firstly to edit the character of Guifré’s wife, Guinidilda. In the vanilla, she’s lowborn with no connected family. In 867 she is his courtier. According to the sources, she was her relative, more precisely the daughter of his cousin, Sunyer II who was count of Empuries. In the vanilla, his cousin is his rival which is not accurate at the 867 start date because he married his daughter. The vanilla cousin is cousin by the Barcelona family but according to sources he was cousin by Guifré’s mother, so from Carcassonne dynasty. So i decided to remove this "fake in my opinion" character and his brother and give the correct cousin the county of Rossello. In sources, he was count of Empuries but the vanilla didnt creat this county, The supposed rivalty between Guifré and Sunyer was not true as i said he married his daughter, and the kind of hate between both probably happened when Guifré’s brother was given the count of Rossello, on which Sunyer add a claim on thanks to his father who was count of Rossello and Empùries.
I decided to give him Rossello county from the beginning because in vanilla he would have been landless and that’s wasnt the case historically. So i take this decision which is "in the middle".
For the family of Guifré, i went until his grandparents characters and maybe i’ll go farer in the future, but its not very important for the following of his adventure in 867, the main things was to connect Barcelona’s family and Carcassonne dinasty with 4 marriages (at least what i found) at this period.
I also edited Guifré’s traits and Guinidilda, and some other Guifré’s family member to make it more realistic according the sources i’ve found on their deeds.

Compatible with MPE as i did this mod with MPE in my mod list.
Not compatible with More Bookmarks+ as this mod edit all history/characters docs and reorganized characters in differents folder than vanilla’s did. I tried to make a compatible mod but it was too complicated for me and i’m still learning.
Im working on a huge mod to set an Optimum Scripta for all Francia, can’t wait for it to be released but it takes long time
