Description:
"These creatures are worse even than ADVENT. They have no cause, no fear. They simply exist. If we do not defeat the aliens soon we will become little more than they are." – Elena "Outrider" Dragunova
Lost’s melee attack triggers Shadowbind. :Simple but very powerful challenge.

Lost has been purely intimidating in number. But what if their hammer and anvil tactics were completed? This mode implements it while avoiding system changes as much as possible. You can understand why Elena was more afraid of the lost than her aliens.

Detail

As mentioned above. Targets hit by Lost’s normal melee attack automatically trigger Shadowbind, and their replicas will stand on the side of the lost faction.

-Each time hit their Lost’s melee attack, spawn a replica unit called LostShadow.

-There are few restrictions on LostShadow. Aliens, MECs, even Gatekeepers and Sectopods are no exception.
-Purifier and Chosen are not affected by the lost Shadowbind.
-Although LostShadow has a very low base health. Their weapons and skills are the same as the original. (Even AI!)
ㄴLost shadows can be done if the original can do it. Psi reanimation, Mark target, gateway….
ㄴand Use explosives if they get the chance.

To sum up, ADVENT can’t beat the Lost without a Purifier who can block their actions. If the Purifier fails the initial quarantine with ADVENT left between Losts, you’ll see Lost attack you with a Shadow Army containing powerful ranged units.

Additional….. units(?): Lost Shadow [_____]

Most of the lost shadows are simply deteriorated replicas of the original. But If you neglect Specter, Psionic Zombies, and Warlocks between lost…. Instead of replicas, something close to their essence appears.
– This is the LostShadow of Specter, Psionic Zombies, and Chosen Warlocks.
– Very low health(2 HP), but extremely high armor and kinetic plating.
– Can’t get rid of this with a standard shot. This bounces off all shots through deflect.
– Its melee attack triggers an instant kill.

New Item

This mod definitely gives the lost Horde a Paracausality strength. This means that there is a need to give XCOM the means to respond to their strategy as well.

1. Synch Vest

"Nanoparticles that mimic Lost’s neurological substances were applied to the nanoscale vest. This vest prevents Lost Shadowbind and unconsciousness through neural synchronization between the wearer and the Avenger."

-Required ‘Alien Biotech’ and ‘Autopsy The Lost’
– Increases soldier’s HP
– Immunity to unconscious and Lost Shadowbind."

2. ShadowJACK(WIP)

(Junk) Q&A

Q1: BUT…. WHY?????
A2: Because the Lost Hive Mind deals with supercausal intellect to satisfy his Hunger! XD

Q2: Why is this mindless bunch of beasts using that hyper technology?
A2: According to the XCOM canon, They are monsters that even ADVENT can’t subdue. I just provided that reason.

Q3: I remember Shadowbind originally from SPECTER!
A3: Let’s think of Elder’s nanomachine codex as the reverse engineering of the Lost Hivemind-nanomachine. (Well…. anyway, both are the same green color)

WIP STATUS

This mod is a WORK IN PROGRESS. I want Lost to be a powerful faction that ADVENT cannot ignore, and I want to make the rewards faithfully.

– Lost ShadowBind [ ]: If Psionic Zombies, Faceless, and the chosen Warlock are exposed to Lost attacks, the most devastating Shadowbind is born.
– (WIP) ShadowJACK: A special consumable utility item that allows soldiers to use Shadowbind, which can be created by completing a specific Shadow Chamber research available after Lost and Specter Autopsy.

Caution

As a result of testing, it has been confirmed that a significant system overload occurs when a large ADVENT (force level 20 + Alert Level 7) and a Lost faction collide with each other and neglect. If you add a radar faction mod here, the symptoms may get worse.

I recommend that you check your computer status first before subscribing to the mod. Even though I’m using an old computer (gaming laptop, 3 years old), I think a similar phenomenon could happen on a computer with a lower specification than me.
