Description:

"The continent of Europe finds itself in a tumultuous time as the century draws to its midpoint. Even though christianity at the behest of Pope Eugene IV was able to repel the Ottoman incursion it came at the death of Wladyslaw III which has caused his realm to fragment into several kingdoms. The conquering and conciliation of France has led Gascony and Toulouse to enter into an alliance out of fear of being the next targets and the lands of germany are divided more than ever before. The Asatru faith still dominates northern Europe but the continuous religious conquest and persecutions of the Teutonic and Livonian Orders were only recently halted with the intervention of the Fólkvéurr League and the former’s defeat at the battle of Räga."

Version 3.0.5 is completed and up and rolling!

Very important information:

– The mod was created with all dlc except Winds of Change and it does unfortunately not work properly when playing with the dlc enabled, however it is not recommended to use the mod without the other dlc:s as this might cause bugs and crashes.

– Bellow is a compresed list of the changes the mod makes. A full and detailed list can be found on the Discord server https://discord.gg/yHwPceq3.

Taking place in a world where christianity never managed to establish itself in northern Europe as the pagan faiths syncretized with each other, "The Fólkvéurr League" is a mod that hopes to bring players a grand new experience by making vast alterations to the european landscape in terms of political, religious, cultural and economic changes! The mod introduces:

– A compleat overhaul of the HRE, including members, religion, imperial reforms (decentralized is currently not meant to be playable), naval force limit and sailor bonuses, a new CB for members targeting bordering none-HRE countries, new imperial incidents and the removal of the old ones to prevent weird gameplay scenarios, a new HRE wide disaster, new noble privileges, changes to the national ideas and traditions when forming the Holy Roman Empire and new government reforms.

– A vast overhauling of the norse faith, including combining the personal deity and harmony mechanics, bonuses from the personal deities, added events for each deity and the faith as a whole, bonuses for each individually harmonized pagan religion, a decision for Ásatrú to change the personal deity, insults from countries in the nordic culture group against other countries in the culture group might trigger an event chain.

– The addition of a new religion called Reykberi, a off shot of Asatru that mirrors Protestantism and enambels the League war of religion.

– The addition of the Ukonusko religion that uses the ancestor and holy site mechanics.

– The addition of the Vidilism religion that uses the ancestor and cult mechanics.

– 1 new Age bonus for the nordic culture group in the Age of Discovery.

– Changed the flow of the trade nodes so that the baltic node now is the end point insteed of the english chanel.

– Changed colonization to make it slower, more stratigic and to prevent the usual colinizers (SPA, POR, ENG and FRA) from allways taking over the new world.

– A whopping 107 new tags! Unfortunately only 3 (Svitjod, Akershus and Stetten) are properly playable as of now.

– 164 new events!

– 117 new missions in total! 70 for the nation of Svitjod (including 3 that variate depending on the state religion), 17 for Akershus and 16 for Stetten! Other members of the HRE get 2 generec if Asatru, 4 if Ukonusko and 7 if Vidilism!

– 120 new country modifiers and 7 new province modifiers!

– 14 new decisions with 13 being specific to Svitjod and the remainder 2 being for all nordic countries!

– 4 new cultures have been created and added to the nordic culture group!

– 3 new mercenary bands located in scandinavia.

– 1 new great project that is unlocked through the Svitjodic mission tree.

– 3 new noble privileges tied to the nation of Svitjod.

– 2 new CB:s (one generic for all HRE members and one specific for Svitjod)!

– Changed the requirements and bonuses from the great project Heddal Stave Church to work better with the new pagan faiths.

– Added 3 new subject types called Holmgang Tributary, Riksjarl Retainer and Lydrike

– Lots of changes to the european and anatolian political landscape for the sake of balancing.

– Some minor changes to existing modifiers, government reforms, etc for the mod to function properly.

– Changes in the localisation of the HRE to fit the new background/history.

– A few secrets here and there.

Important and general information regarding the mod:

– As of right now the only two intended countries to play as is that of Svitjod (HRE emperor), Akershus (elector in Norway) and Stetten (elector in Germany) but that of course does not exclud the player from going with any other country. Just be aware that there might be bugs, uncompletable missions, etc, that hasn’t been accounted for. In other words you are likely to have a better experience playing as the aforementioned nations.

– It is highly recommended to either save often or set the autosave function to "Monthly" or "Half Year" as to prevent loss of progress due to unforeseen circumstances.

– If encountering the new HRE disaster it is very important that the player reads the message very carefully as the player is expected to deal with it in a very specific way.

Compatibility with ironman:

– The mod is not ironman compatible due to all the changes in just about every part of the games files.

Compatibility with other mods:

– Mods that makes changes to the unmodded game files probably won’t work.

– Mods that simply make visual changes should be fine.

– Mods that changes the ai should be fine.

– Mods that add new buildings, mechanics, religions, etc, that don’t make changes to the base game (including dlc) files should be fine.

Future planes for the mod:

– Giving the new electors, free cities and monastic orders individual mission trees to make them properly playable alternative to Svitjod.

Any and all feedback is welcome, be it questions, suggestions, bugs or crashes!

This is a free mod and any attempt to monetize it is a scam!

If anyone wishes to use the files in the mod to create their own mod then please do not do so without giving credit to the mod author.
