The Collapse of Russia:
Russia in its history had always been feudal and undeveloped when compared to its western neighbors, it had, for a long time, repressed it minorities in an effort to create a single Russian identity. But, when Tsar Alexander II had been crowned, he attempted to fix that, he attempted to liberate serfs, improve health care and education, and much more. Though as many began to demand the abolishment of the tsarist system, and the unfavorable, nearly humiliating terms given to Russia after the Crimean war that Alexander II had reluctantly accepted only compounded opinions of ethnic minorities and political radicals alike, Russia could not survive if a Tsar sat in Saint Petersburg. Alexander found himself increasingly unpopular, regardless of his reforms. And as his assassin would take his life on the 13th of March, and the coronation of Alexander III, who took a more repressive approach to governing, it would send Russia into a spiral that would lead to its destruction and dissolution, one that would see its territory all the way from Vladivostok to Onega fall into near anarchy.
Rise of The Grand Duchy of North America:
Shortly after America’s victory to gain their independence, its euphoric stability brought by victory ran out. The Articles of Confederation, the documents mean’t to establish an American Confederation of sorts quickly became the bane of the American government, Hamilton, who had since the beginning, had been pushing for a strong central government, floated the idea of a monarch citing the utter failure of The Articles of Confederation, as the idea gradually became a serious proposal, many major monarchies such as France, Prussia, and even Great Britain supported the idea, offering minor support for the burgeoning monarchist movement in America. Though this movement wasn’t without pushback, many wanted America to become a union of states, and very briefly, the two groups were on the brink of conflict. This culminated in a national referendum. The monarchist would pick Prince Henry of Prussia as their monarch, which was supported by Baron von Steuben, a Prussian general who fought for American independence and Nathaniel Gorham, the president of the Continental Congress. And in general, American sentiment was openly friendly to Prussia, and Germany as a whole, this was a big hit to republican support, which had for months been waning, and as the vote concluded, it would be the last display of American democracy, as it would be voted that a king was to sit in the White House.
