Baltimare [Map]
Baltimare is the largest settlement in the Equestrian South-East, located in the Horseshoe Bay. Originally a small fishing settlement, it industrialized and grew rapidly, mostly thanks to its natural harbour. It became a center of shipping and manufacturing with thriving docks. Baltimare is located in South-Eastern Equestria, and also houses a considerable minority of thestrals.
For most of the war, Baltimare was considered untouchable from the changeling menace. This would unfortunately prove incorrect as the front lines pushed further east, leaving the city vulnerable to strategic bombing raids from the Changelings. In the closing months of the war, the city was encircled by Changeling Panzers and besieged. The defenders still received supply from the many ports in the city, so Baltimare became a ramshackle fortress.
This section of the city, known as Wagon’s Point, was originally a major hub for trade due to its location at the mouth of the river that flowed into Horseshoe Bay. During Baltimare’s siege, it was transformed into a major evacuation and triage center, as many civilians and wounded soldiers were ferried out and sent where ever ships could dock, ideally to ports that were friendly to Equestria. Many ships did not survive the voyage.
