Pacific Meltdown – Duel at the Crossroads (Mission 8)
December 7, 1986: The long, cold reach of winter has overcome the Bering Sea. With brutal, icy seas and near-constant nightfall hampering military operations, the Red Storm has turned south, its target Japan. Although officially neutral in the war, the island nation has been a critical launchpad for US operations in Korea, the East China Sea, and the North Pacific. The objective at hand is to remove the Americans from Japan by strangling them of critical war supplies mixed in with a little diplomatic pressure. In other words, merchant raiding. B-402, a Kilo-class submarine, has been deployed near the shipping hub of Fukuoka to achieve this goal, but will soon come to find out it isn’t the only hunter in these waters…
