Pacific Meltdown – Charlie Don’t Surf (Mission 4)
July 11, 1986: The time to strike has come. The Soviet Navy is ready for war, and the US Navy is stretched thin supporting operations in Korea and Vietnam as well as battling the PLAN in the China Sea. The Kremlin’s eye has first turned to Attu Island, a strategically important location that carries an airbase as well, and has prepared an invasion force, which has already left port, to seize the island and gain momentum in the naval conflict. The Americans are well aware of the importance of Attu, however, and have been fortifying it to the teeth, shipping in troops, tanks, and other supplies. One such convoy is due to arrive at Attu soon; you are tasked with using the powerful arsenal of your Charlie I-class submarine to do a little last-minute invasion prep and eliminate the convoy.
