Description:
This mod is a simple handful of changes made to another mod originally created and posted by BellyFish.

Simply put, both his mod and my version of his mod add a few requirements and steps for any character, including the player, to form a kingdom under the HRE. This only includes the core German kingdoms as well as the French kingdoms for the sake of flavor.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

So what’s so special and different about your version of BellyFish’s own mod?‘, I hear you ask through the Steam desktop workshop browser.

Well, I could tell you if you were patient and could wait for a damn minute. If you want to know what BellyFish’s mod does, visit his page and find out there. I will only explain what I changed about his mod here.

I (personally) found that there were still too many kingdoms forming under the HRE. To rectify this, these are the changes I made.

1. The time between each possible petition to the emperor for a kingdom was increased from 10(?) years to 50 years.

2. Having a strong hook is now a requirement to send the petition to the emperor. It’s still not guaranteed that the Kaiser will agree.

3. Whether or not the Kaiser agrees to petition, there will be strife between your character, your liege, and within the realm.

I’ve added some flavor around the ideas I added on top of BellyFish’s great work. If the Kaiser refuses your petition, your character will spread mean, nasty rumors about their liege, supposedly about whatever gave your character a strong hook in the first place. This will give every character within the HRE a negative opinion modifier of the Kaiser, as long as they were:

a. In the empire at the time of the petition
b. Alive at the time of the petition

This may seem harsh, but in my "absolutely-not-based-upon-history-and-is-simply-my-personal-opinion" …well, opinion, is that the Kaiser would never hand out an entire Kingdom so willingly, and if his hand is forced, he should not be happy about that. With three exceptions, that is.

1. Austria: I readded the vanilla "Form Archduchy of Austria" decision back into the game. BellyFish removed it and I (personally) like the event as is, and I feel like it adds some variety away from the new "Form HRE Kingdom" decision. And also "muh achievements".

2. Switzerland: Same deal as Austria, I readded the vanilla Confederation decision back into the game for the same reason.

3. Bohemia: We all know historically Bohemia was an exception to this whole no kingdom in the HRE thing

(I think?)

As of now, my version (and I believe the original version) do not have any special flavor for forming Bohemia. However, I definitely want to add a different, maybe easier, but still believable way, to form the Bohemian Kingdom at a later date.

Or maybe not.

Fun Fact:

I do NOT know how to code anything. Never coded a day in my life. I do have another outdated map mod but I only changed 4 lines of text. This is my first attempt at any sort of real coding and, especially when compared to BellyFish’s coding right next to mine, is absolute dog water. Which is honestly surprising, given so much of it was straight up copy and paste.

If there are somehow any game-breaking issues with my code, let me know and I’ll fix it – that is, if you can tell me how to. If there are no as-of-yet undiscovered issues with my code, and you simply think my code is bad, ugly, and sad, cool! How about we keep that to ourselves! If the code is working, I do not care how inefficient or ugly it is. It’s working. That’s a miracle in of itself.

Also, you do NOT need to have Bellyfish’s original mod in your load order anywhere when running this mod. My version does work by itself. I honestly would make it a requirement to have his version downloaded and running, but I do not know how to make my code, you know, do the whole coding-bit while only overriding the original bits of the code that I’ve changed and added.

Also Also,

Achievement Compatible?

Iron-man Compatible?

"X" Mod Compatible?

I don’t have a single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue!

Try it out for yourself and find out. It’s your game you are modding, how about you tell me.

Good Luck
