Claim Fabrication CK2 Style
This mod revamps the claim fabrication system, aligning it more closely with CK2’s mechanics. Instead of a guaranteed success upon filling the progress bar to 100%, claim fabrication now features a chance-based system.
Once the progress bar is full, you have a base success chance of 15%, which is then increased by your Court Chaplain’s combined Learning and Diplomacy skills, minus the county target’s Diplomacy skill (this allows the target to defend against the claim attempt). Here’s an example for clarity:
- Base chance: 15%
- Chaplain’s Learning: +15%
- Chaplain’s Diplomacy: +5%
- Target’s Diplomacy: -5%
- Fabrication Chance = 30%
This makes fabricating claims more dynamic, as you’ll need to think carefully about who you can feasibly fabricate a claim against.
- The speed of claim fabrication is now fixed at 12 months to complete the progress bar.
- Your Chaplain’s Learning skill only influences the success probability, not the speed.
- The forger perk still speeds the fabrication process up slightly.
- If an attempt fails, your Chaplain will automatically try again.
- The rare chance to fabricate a claim for an entire duchy remains intact.
- These changes apply to the AI as well.
- When you press the fabricate a claim button to select a new county to fabricate against, the target’s diplomacy display won’t update while hovering over counties on the map. It will only be updated properly once you select a county. You can then hover over the button again to see the actual success chance.
- Your fabrication chance won’t fall below a minimum of 5%.
A special thank you to KeizerHarm, Sunset Invasion guy, who helped me figure out the localization process to actually display the success chance!
Enjoy!
