Description:

Updated as of [17/4/2024], check the change notes!

Adds completely new and unique map specific music events (Quarantines, Slayers, Saferooms, etc…) to campaigns using the level_sounds.txt method.

Please note that this is not fully finished, the L4D2 side of things are pretty much done but it needs a few small touches that we will add later. Also we’d like to say:

This is a FAN-made attempt at adding some more flavour into the campaigns, take this mod with a grain of salt, you might like it, you might think it’s hot garbage.

(This is an early "beta" version, we will be releasing updates that include tracks for L4D1 campaigns and Cold Stream at a later point. Most likely as separate parts.)

(Does not work with Custom Campaigns.)

VERY IMPORTANT:

Due to how wonky sound-scripting is when playing any mode that isn’t single-player the mod will most likely break when playing multiplayer.

The only way to fix this is to "Mount" the mod to your Left 4 Dead 2, don’t worry, this is easy! Here is how to do so:

Video Guide: https://youtu.be/uh2FHP8Fnvk

Text Guide:
Step 1: Subscribe to the mod and load into Left 4 Dead 2 and wait for your add-ons to load. (This is so the mod downloads.)

Step 2: Exit out of Left 4 Dead 2 and open file explorer, locate to your main L4D2 files (It will look something like this in the directory: "C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonLeft 4 Dead 2")

Step 3: Go into left4dead2addonsworkshop and find the 3 .VPK files of the mod (Look for the 3 .VPK files that are titled [3187990529.vpk], [3187993815.vpk] and [3187998584.vpk]

Step 4: Drag these files out to addons.

Step 5: Unsubscribe to the workshop pages of this mod.

Step 6: You’re done!

Had to be split into parts because of how GIGANTIC it is. Sorry.

Credits:

Lochlan: Scripting and music choices.

Nyx: Music choices, music adjustments, custom mod thumbnail and preview image.

Rook: Music Choices.

Eranthis: Original idea and music choices.

AcidDragonGraugh: His wicked Metal Covers!

Various other artists: Music used. (Too many for me to write them all down here, there is a full list of music in the discussions tab and in the .VPK file for anyone with GFCscape.)

If it wasn’t obvious, we did not create and compose these tracks. All rights go to their respective authors. This is just a silly little mod for a game that came out in 2009, please don’t smite us down with the copyright hammer. It’s not like we’re making any money from this.

This mod is a little rough around the edges I won’t lie. Let us know if you run into any issues. (Before you comment with an issue make sure you have the mod mounted first.)
